La Palma

have a daughter congregation in La Palma :
The most westerly and southerly
congregation in the Diocese in Europe!
On the island of La Palma is a small congregation which began a few years ago.
Every Sunday a group of about a dozen or so
people meet, a mixture of nationalities and Christian denominations,
The building they use is a delightful new chapel, Roman Catholic, which they use with the
kind permission of the local parish priest. This was built a few years ago as the
result of a vow:
A local man and his wife were on holiday in South America, when she fell seriously ill and
her husband made a vow that, if she recovered, he would build a chapel back on La
Palma.
She recovered, he kept his vow and the
result is the little chapel of St Martin de Porres.
